The model SGO is engineered to power heavy-duty, high-frequency commercial and industrial sliding gates with cantilever, overhead or roller V track application, which will easily handle the majority of common installations. It is enclosed in a heavy steel base with 500 watt thermostatically-controlled heater and weather-resistant lockable cover, removable for easy service and maintenance. Will accept any optional equipment for fully automatic operation
Three-Button Control:
Momentary-contact type for open, close, stop. Operator may be stopped in any position and gate moved in either direction from that position. Close button can be wired for constant pressure when specified. Control circuit: 24V. A.C. for user’s protection.
Adjustable Automatic-Friction Clutch:
To protect gate and operator in case of obstruction.
Reduction:
Rugged power unit of this operator utilizes double V belt (4L) and heavy pulleys for primary reduction, roller chain and steel sprockets for secondary reduction to the output drive shaft. Gate operating speed: 1,0 ft (.3m) per second approximately.
Selenoid Brake:
To secure locking of gate in closed position.
Limit Switches:
Rotary-type, friction-free oilite bronze cams and precision micro switches, for automatic stopping of gate in open and closed positions, easily adjustable without tools.
Reversing Contactor:
Heavy-duty type.
Universal Mounting:
Right or left side.
Manual-Overload Relay:
For overcurrent and under-voltage protection (manual reset).
Motor:
1/3 H.P. (249W), 1/2 H.P. (373W), 3/4 H.P. (560W), or 1 H.P. (746W). 120V. or 240V. single phase, 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V. or 600V. three phase.
1 H.P. (746W) not recommended in single-phase motors.
Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray-painted in blue hammertone enamel.
Electrical control cabinet:
Pre-wired at the factory and made of cold rolled steel sheet. Dimensions: 8″ x 10″ x 5″ (20.3cm x 25.6cm x 12.7cm). Removable lid for easy servicing and maintenance. Attached to the chassis using four galvanized steel bolts.
Motor control:
Reversing contactor for heavy-duty use, two sets of three-pole contactors on a common frame, mechanically interlocked to prevent simultaneous closing. Hinge type armature supported on three points, single-pole or two-pole auxiliary contacts (as applicable) on each armature. Coils: 24V AC. Non-inductive contact load of 15 amperes at 120V AC, 10 amperes at 240V AC, 5 amperes at 600V AC. Inductive contact load: 2 HP (1492W) max. Quick-connect terminals of .25″ (6.35mm). Mechanical life: 10 million cycles.
End-of-travel switches:
Rotary type, “oilite” bronze cams without friction, grooved and guided in a galvanized steel plate, embossed. They are fixed on a drawn steel shaft threaded 5/8″ (1.59cm) x 10 3/4″ (26.88cm) rotating on high-speed ball bearings, self-lubricating. At predetermined positions, the cams operate microswitches that cut off the power supply to the motor control in the opening and closing direction. Maximum force exerted on the switch: 4 ounces (113.4g). Contact spacing: .02″ (0.5mm). Quick-connect terminals of .25″ (6.35mm).
Manual overload relay:
Protects against current overloads and voltage drops. (Manually reset).
Reduction:
The SGO control uses two 4L trapezoidal belts, a 1 1/2″ (3.75cm) pulley and a 9″ (22.8cm) pulley, both A-type in aluminium casting, balanced to ensure smooth primary reduction. Two 41B9 steel gears and two 41B23 gears, with an RC41 roller chain mounted on drawn steel shafts of 5/8″ (1.59cm) and 1″ (2.5cm) resting on four self-lubricating high-speed auto-centering bearing supports for the secondary reduction to the output shaft. All gears are keyed or dowelled on the shafts. Door speed: About 1 foot (30cm) per second.
Chassis:
Cold rolled steel frame, 11-gauge, with steel reinforcements and welded. Dimensions: 10 1/2″ high x 20″ long x 17 1/2″ high (26.25cm x 50cm x 44.5cm).
Mechanical safety lock:
When the release lever is in the manual position, the secondary transfer mechanism is released, separating the door from the control. The mechanical safety lock is intended to protect the control and door in the event of power restoration and accidental button press. The limit switches are not disturbed when the door is manually operated.
25 va step-down transformer:
Primary 120V, 240V AC to secondary 24V AC. Primary 208V, 230V, 416V, 460V, 600V AC to secondary 24V AC.
Self-adjusting friction clutch:
4″ (10.16cm) diameter aluminum disc attached to the rotating shaft, one end of which is lined with a 4″ (10.16cm) x 1/8″ (0.32cm) disc of non-flammable fibrous clutch material. Two trapezoidal belt pulleys are compressed using a powerful compression spring and a nylon socket nut. The friction clutch system can be adjusted as needed depending on the size and weight of the door. The clutch protects the door and control in the presence of an obstacle.
Robust solenoid brake:
Consists of a 4″ (10cm) diameter aluminum alloy disc mounted on the drive shaft with a key, linings with 360o external compression force by spring mechanism. The brake disc stops the door when the power is cut off on the electromagnetic solenoid switch. Mounted on 14-gauge cold rolled steel plates. The brake mechanism self-adjusts.
Three push-button control:
With momentary pressure contact for opening, closing, and stopping. Completely enclosed, weather-resistant. 250V AC maximum. Screw terminals.
Motor:
Approved for heavy-duty use (capacitor start for single-phase models) 1/3 HP (249W), 1/2 HP (373W), 3/4 HP (560W), or 1 HP (746W), 120V or 240V single-phase, 208V, 240V, 416V, 460V, or 600V three-phase, 1725 rpm. Self-lubricating ball bearings. Rigid 56C type frame. Shaft: 5/8″ (1.59cm) diameter. Other voltages available upon request.
The device is pre-wired, color-coded, and labeled at the factory.
Each control comes with its wiring diagram and installation manual.
The control is tested at the factory before shipment.
Unique lock mechanism. When the door closes, the locking pin mounted on the edge of the door enters the fixed locking housing mounted on the door post, resulting in automatic engagement. When the control is powered, a solenoid operates the latch which simultaneously releases the locking pin and allows the door to open. A key lock is provided to manually release the locking mechanism in case of a power outage. The Doorlec lock is delivered as shown above. The fixing hardware must be manufactured on site according to the dimensions of the post.
Specify the diameter of the fixed post when ordering.
