he model RDOF has been developed mainly to power fire-rated rolling doors. Patent-pending fusible-link fire release system, incorporated with the operator brake mechanism, will, in the event of fire or heat above 160oF, (71oC)automatically release operator door and allow descent of curtain at controlled speed, eliminating the need for expensive safety-governors and fusible-link drop-levers, normally used to retard closing speed of door. Door must be counter-balanced up to 85% of curtain weight and built in accordance with the Under Writers Laboratories of Canada (ULC) requirements. This unique cylindrical and compact design has universal mounting: left or right. Can be installed in front of door curtain without the need for additional sideroom.
Reduction:
Planetary gear reducer 80:1 ratio, lubricated and sealed for life. Cast aluminium alloy housing. 3/4″ (19.05cm) D. output shaft. Door speed: 8″ (20cm) per second approx.
Limit Switches:
Rotary type with “oilite” bronze cams and precision micro switches for automatic stopping of door in open or close positions. Easily adjustable externally without tools.
Motor Controller:
Relays with solid state p.c.b.
Three Button Control:
Momentary contact type for open, close, stop. Operator may be stopped in any position and door moved up or down from that position. Control circuit: 120V. A.C.
Magnetic Brake:
Saucer-type, magnetic brake system will prevent door from coasting and secure locking of door in closed position.
Mounting:
left or right hand. Must be specified. Shown above: left hand.
Chain Hoist:
RDOF operator is equipped with built-in automatic engage device. The pull-of-hand chain allows a person to open or close the door from the floor, in the event of power failure, without having to remove the drive roller chain. Limit switches will not go out of adjustment.
Motor:
1/2 H.P. (373W), 110V. or 220V. single phase only, with built-in thermal cut-out, will cut-off power to motor when temperatures reaches 212oF (100oC). Will restore power to the control circuit automatically when temperature drops to 158oF (70oC) (approx. 8 minutes).
Sideroom Required:
See key plan page 18.
For position 1 and 3: not required.
For position 2 and 4: 21″ (53cm).
Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray painted in blue hammertone enamel.
Three-button control:
With momentary contact, for opening, closing, and stopping. Fully enclosed. Medium usage 250V. AC maximum. Screw terminals.
Motor control:
Discrete control circuit with robust relays and electrical locking to prevent simultaneous closure.
Control cabinet:
Made of slow-burning ABS plastic. Easily disassembled for service and maintenance.
Reduction:
80:1 ratio planetary gear reducer with reinforced, hardened, and bored steel gears. High-speed tapered bearings with spring and double lip seals to keep the lubricant inside and dirt outside. Special alloy cast iron housing, lubricated and sealed for life. Lubricant temperature: 125°F to -30°F (52°C to -34°C). Output shafts: 3/4″ (19.05mm). Door speed: approximately 8″ (20cm) per second. Maximum lifting capacity: 770 pounds (300kg). Maximum door surface: 168 sq.ft. (15.6m2).
Magnetic brake:
Centrifugal type with return spring, which holds the door when the power is cut off, preventing free door movements and locking it when closed. The brake automatically releases when the motor is operated. Brake operation does not wear out the brake disc or the housing.
Emergency fire release mechanism:
When the ambient temperature reaches 160°F (71°C), a spring-loaded fuse device automatically releases the command’s brake system, allowing the door to descend at a moderate speed through the planetary gear reducer.
Emergency chain winch:
Any pull on the chain automatically engages manual mode, allowing the door to be opened and closed manually in case of a breakdown.
Motor:
Approved for continuous operation (continuous capacitor motor). 1/2 HP (373W) 110V or 220V AC.
The device is pre-wired, color-coded, and labeled at the factory.
Each command comes with its wiring diagram.
The command is tested in the factory before shipment
