Model RDO is a newly developed, electric door operator with compact, cylindrical, state-of-the-art design, suitable for rolling curtain doors, rolling grilles and rolling rubber doors. Universal mounting right or left, can be installed horizontally in front of door, curtain or grille, eliminating the need for any sideroom. Ideally suited for installation in underground mine tunnels, subway stations, shopping malls, etc., because of its unique concept and noiseless operation.
Three Button Control:
Momentary contact type for open, close, stop. May be stopped in any position and door moved up or down from that position. Close button can be wired for constant pressure when specified. Control circuit: 24V. A.C. for user’s protection, Class II.
Limit Switches:
Rotary type, friction free, oilite bronze cams and precision micro switches, for automatic stopping of door in open or close positions. Easily adjustable externally without tools.
Reversing Contactor:
Heavy duty type.
Reduction:
Planetary gear reducer 40:1 ratio, lubricated and sealed for life. Cast iron alloy housing 1″ (2.54cm) output shaft. Door speed: 8″ (20cm) per second approx.
Motor:
3/4 H.P. (560W), 110V. or 220V. single phase, 1 H.P. (746W) 208V., 460V., 550V three phase.
Manual Overload Relay:
For overcurrent and under voltage protection. (Manual reset).
Brake:
Disc type to prevent door from coasting and locking it in any position.
Chain Hoist:
Equipped with a built-in disconnect device which allows a person to open or close door by hand, from the floor, in the event of power failure, without having to remove the drive roller chain.
Sideroom Required:
See key plan page 16. For position 1 and 3: not required. For position 2 and 4: 21″ (53cm).
Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray painted in blue hammertone baked enamel.
Three-button control: With momentary contact for opening, closing, and stopping. Fully enclosed. Average usage 250V. AC. Screw terminals. 24V. AC control circuit for user safety, in class II.
Motor control: Reversing contactor for heavy-duty use, two sets of three-pole contactors on a common frame, mechanically linked to prevent simultaneous closure. Hinge-type armature carried on three points, single-pole or bipolar auxiliary contacts (as the case may be) on each armature. Coils: 24V AC. Non-inductive contact load: 15 amps @ 120V AC, 10 amps @ 240V AC, 5 amps @ 600V AC; inductive: 2 HP (1493W) max. Quick connect terminals of .25″ (6.3cm). Mechanical life: over 10 million cycles.
Reduction: 40:1 ratio planetary gear reducer with reinforced, hardened, and bored steel gears. High-speed tapered bearings with spring and double lip seals to retain the lubricant inside and keep the dirt outside. Special alloy cast iron housing, lubricated and sealed for life. Lubricant temperature: 125°F to -30°F. Output shafts: 1″ (2.54cm). Door speed: approximately 8″ (20cm) per second. Maximum lifting capacity: 1364 pounds (620kg). Maximum door surface: 560 sq.ft. (52m2).
Brake: Disc type with centrifugal and return spring, which holds the door when the power is cut off, preventing free movements of the door and locking it when closed. The brake automatically releases when the motor is activated. Brake operation does not cause wear to the brake disc or housing.
Emergency chain winch: Any pull on the chain automatically engages the manual mode allowing the door to be opened and closed manually in case of failure.
Motor: Approved for continuous operation (start with capacitor in single-phase power supply). 3/4 HP (560W) 110V or 220V single-phase, 1 HP (746W) 208V, 460V or 550V three-phase.
Limit switches: Rotary type, frictionless “oilite” bronze cams, fixed on a threaded 3/8″ (9.5mm) drawn steel shaft rotating on “oilite” bearings. The cams are hand-adjustable, without a tool. At predetermined positions, the cams actuate micro-switches that cut off the motor control power in the direction of opening and closing. Maximum force exerted on the switch: 4 ounces (113.4g). Contact gap: .020″ (0.5mm). Limit switch housing cast in zinc alloy with transparent polycarbonate cover.
Manual overload relay: Protects against current overloads and voltage drops. It is manually reset.
25 VA step-down transformer: Primary 120V, 240V AC to secondary 24V AC, class II. Primary 208V, 460V, 600V AC to secondary 24V AC, class II.
The device is pre-wired, color-coded, and labeled at the factory. Each command is delivered with its wiring diagram. The command is tested at the factory before shipment.
