For overhead type doors with standard lift, high lift or vertical lift hardware, also for rolling service doors and grilles. Many other types of doors can be equipped with this operator, providing the door has a shaft as the basic driving element. LJ Model has a floor lever disconnect device which allows a person to disengage the operator from the door and operate door by hand in the event of power failure, electromechanical disengagement is provided. Limit switches will not go out of adjustment when door is used manually. LJH Model is essentially the same as LJ but equipped with hand “chain hoist”, permitting manual operation of the door from floor, in case of power failure. All other features remain the same.
DC2000 DEDICATED LOGIC CONTROLLER USED IN CONJONCTION WITH LJ-LJH ELECTRIC OPERATORS
The DC2000 dedicated logic controller has been designed to accept, and operate with, any automatic or manual activators without the need of programming. A slide switch has been provided to select manual or automatic mode.
If manual mode is selected the following controls can be used to activate the door.
Push button open/close/stop
Reversing activator
Open/close activator
Remote radio control system
If automatic mode is selected, in addition to the manual mode activators, an automatic closing (timer) adjustable from 10 to 180 seconds is in effect when the door is in the full open position, ready to signal the closing cycle after a predetermined delay. Connections for red and green warning lights is provided as well.
FEATURES
Power at your finger tip, through… Research an Engineering
Electrical control box:
Pre-connected at the factory. Box profiled in 14 gauge hot-rolled steel, measuring 8″ x 10″ x 4-1/2″ (20cm x 25cm x .31cm) with removable lid for easy servicing and maintenance. Mounted on the frame using 5 galvanized steel bolts.
Motor control:
High power STRUTHERS-DUNN reversing contactor or equivalent. Two sets of three-pole contactors on a common armature, mechanically interlocked to prevent their simultaneous closure, plunger armature with triangular suspension, DPDT auxiliary contacts on each armature, 24V. A.C. coils, resistivity 120V. A.C. 15 amp., 240V. A.C. 10 amp., 550V. A.C. 5 amp. 1 HP maximum motor. Terminals .250″ (.625cm) quick connect, durability 10 million cycles.
Tolerance contactors:
Screw type with two grooved oilite bronze cams, guided by a profiled galvanized steel plate. The cams are mounted on a threaded shaft of 5/8″ x 10-3/4″ (1.56cm x 26.88cm) cold rolled N/F steel, rotating on lubricated ball bearings. The cams, by pivoting, operate two micro-switches that cut the motor control current in both upward and downward directions. Control force on tolerance contactors 4 oz. (113.4g) maximum, contact gap .020″ (.05cm), pre-travel .250″ (.625cm), end .250″ (.625cm) quick connect.
Manual overload relay:
Protects the operator from overload or voltage deficiency. Can be manually reset.
Reduction:
The primary reduction, on both the LJ and LJH operators, is carried out by means of a 4L V belt and two type A pulleys, made of cast iron and cast aluminium alloy, compensated to ensure smooth operation, one of 1-1/2″ and the other of 7″ (3.75cm x 17.5cm). Four 41B9 steel gears and one 41B23 gear, as well as a RC41 roller chain, rotating on four 5/8″ (1.56cm) and two 1″ (2.5cm) high-speed and precision lubricated collar bearings, ensure secondary reduction to the terminal shaft. All the gears are pinned or keyed to the 5/8″ (1.56cm) and 1″ (2.5cm) cold-rolled shaft. Approximate door operating speed, 1.4 ft/second (.3m/second).
Chassis:
This assembly consists of a 11 gauge cold-rolled steel frame, reinforced with steel angles, all welded for added strength.
Solidarized safety mechanism:
When the floor control lever is in manual position, the secondary shaft is released by means of a coupling mechanism, allowing the operator and the door to operate independently. This mechanical safety switch protects the device and the door in case the button is accidentally activated when the power is restored. The tolerance contactors will not be disrupted during manual operation of the door. Height 7-1/2″, length 20″, size 10-1/2″ (18.75cm x 50cm x 26.25cm).
Automatic and adjustable friction clutch:
4″ (10cm) diameter aluminium disc, attached to the rotary shaft, covered on one side with a 4″ x 1/8″ (10cm x .31cm) flammable fibrous material for clutch lining, as well as a 7″ (17.5cm) pulley with V-belt, compressed by means of a powerful compression spring and threaded nuts with nylon insert firmly held by a 3/16″ (4.8mm) pin. The clutch system can easily be adjusted according to the size and weight of the door. The friction clutch protects the door and the operator in case of obstruction.
Chain hoist (LJH model only):
Paired with a ground breaker that, when pulled, will disengage the electrical solenoid brake and engage the chain hoist for manual operation in case of power failure, without having to disengage the main drive chain. The assembly consists of a grooved aluminium wheel, lever arm, a connector, a 1/8″ (.31cm) diameter pull cable, a machined chain of 7/16″ (11.1mm) diameter, a wall stop and a release arm.
High efficiency solenoid brake:
Consists of a 4″ (10cm) diameter aluminium alloy disc, mounted on the keyed motor shaft, brake segments lined with 360o external compression force and spring mechanism. The braking disc stops the door when the solenoid contactor is released. Mounted on heavy gauge steel plates, protected by a 14 gauge steel housing. The solenoid brake mechanism is self-adjusting type.
Three-button control station:
Momentary contact type, open, close, stop fully protected for normal use, 660V. A.C. maximum. Screw type terminals. Control circuit 24V. A.C. for user protection.
Motor:
Designed for continuous output (capacitor start on single-phase models) 1/3 HP, 1/2 HP, 3/4 HP, or 1 HP, 115V or 230V single-phase, 208V, 440V, 550V three-phase. 1725 RPM permanently lubricated bearings, rigid type 56 casing, 5/8″ (1.56cm) diameter shaft. 1 HP not recommended for single-phase motors. Other voltages available on request.
The unit is pre-connected at the factory with color coding and labels.
Diagrams are included with each operator.
The device is operational and checked before shipping.
