Jackshaft type (wall mount) residential/light commercial door operator, 15 cycles per hour maximum for overhead type doors with standard lift, high lift, or vertical lift hardware, also for rolling grills.
Both models have an easy emergency manual operation using an electro-mechanical floor lever disconnect, which allows a person to disengage the electric operator from the door and operate the chain host mechanism to open or close door in the event of power failure.
Limit switches will not go out of adjustment or synchronization when door is used manually by the chain hoist.
Electric Control Box: Pre-wired at the factory. Profiled box in hot-rolled 14-gauge steel, measuring 8″ x 10″ x 5″ (20cm x 25cm x 12.5cm) with a removable cover for easy service and maintenance. Mounted on the chassis with 4 galvanized steel bolts.
Chassis: Profiled box in 11-gauge cold-rolled reinforced steel sheet with steel corners, all welded for added strength. Dimensions: 10-1/2″ wide x 20″ long x 7-1/2″ high (26.25cm x 50cm x 18.75cm).
Reduction: The primary reduction on both LDJ and LDJ-3 control models is achieved by means of a 4L V-belt and two type A pulleys, one 1-1/2″ and the other 7″ (3.75cm x 17.5cm) offset to ensure smooth operation. A roller chain (65) RC410 and 410 sprockets provide secondary reduction to the final reduction shaft of the control. All reduction shafts of 5/8″ (1.56cm) and 1″ rotate on four precision flange bearings, two of 5/8″ (1.56cm) and two of 1″ (2.5cm), lubricated to ensure long-lasting operation. The door operating speed is about 12″ (28.8cm) per second.
Mechanical Safety Device: When the floor control lever is in the manual position, the secondary shaft is disengaged by means of a link mechanism that allows the door and the control to operate independently. This mechanical safety device protects the door and the control when the power is restored and the push-button is accidentally activated. The limit switches will not go out of adjustment when the door is used manually.
Adjustable Automatic Friction Clutch: 4″ (10cm) aluminum disc affixed to the rotating shaft with one face covered with a non-flammable fibrous material of 4″ x 1/8″ (10cm x 0.31cm). A 7″ (17.5cm) V-belt pulley compressed using a powerful compression spring and a threaded nut with nylon insert, held in place with a 3/16″ (4.8mm) pin. The friction clutch system is adjusted according to the size and weight of the door. The clutch protects the door and the control in case of obstruction.
Emergency Chain Hoist: Paired with a floor disengagement lever that, when pulled, disengages the secondary shaft and engages the chain hoist to allow manual operation in case of power failure without having to remove the main drive chain. The assembly consists of a grooved aluminum nut, a lever, a 1/8″ (0.31cm) diameter coupling, a 3/32″ x 7″ x 19″ (2.38cm) diameter pull cable. A shiny finish chain, a chain lock, and a disengagement lever.
Limit Switches: Screw type, frictionless, with oilite bronze cams, grooved and held in a stamped galvanized steel plate, mounted on a spring. The cams are affixed to a cold-rolled steel threaded NF shaft of 5/8″ x 10-3/4″ (1.56cm x 26.88cm) rotating on high-speed lubricated ball bearings. Thanks to their predetermined movements, the cams actuate the micro switches that cut the power supply to the motor control, ensuring precise stopping of the door in the open or closed position. Maximum force exerted on the switches: 4 oz. (113.4g), contact spacing: 0.02″ (0.05cm), quick connect terminals: 1/4″ (0.625cm).
Engagement Lock: A mechanical brake in the control reduction system locks the door in the closed position; it will prevent freewheeling and stopping of the door in all positions when the STOP button is activated. The door will not open manually unless the chain hoist is used from the inside.
Motor: Immediate operation (run capacitor), 1/2 HP. Rigid monophase casing 115V., permanently lubricated 1000 RPM ball bearings.
2005 (37503) Semiconductor Logic Controller: For light commercial applications with the LDJ-3 control model equipped with OPEN/CLOSE/STOP functions. CSA approved.
2005 (37501) Semiconductor Logic Controller: For residential applications with the LDJ control model. Complies with Canadian standard CAN/CSA-22.2 No. 247-92.
Three-Button Control: Recall; open, close, stop, fully protected for normal use 300V AC maximum. Screw terminals. For the LDJ-3 model only.
Photoelectric Sensor: Serves as protection in case of trapping outside, standard equipment when used with the LDJ model of electric garage door control for residential installation and must be installed according to Corporation Doorlec’s installation instructions. If you are not using a photoelectric sensor, you can activate the closing cycle of the control only by pressing firmly on the doorbell button on the wall. For your protection and safety, when the photoelectric sensor is activated, it will prevent the electric control from closing the door and reverse the operation to open the door entirely.
Radio Control: Available for the LDJ & LDJ-3 models, it activates the door from inside your vehicle and provides you with security and comfort regardless of weather conditions.
