Custom designed, extra heavy-duty, industrial type electric door operators are engineered mainly for large rolling-curtain doors, vertical-lift doors, stacking-type doors and small, sliding hangar doors.
Reduction:
Worm gear reducer, single stage, running in an oil bath, 40:1 ratio, C flange design, cast iron alloy housing. No. 60 roller chain and sprockets from operator shaft to door shaft. Door speed: 7″ (18cm) per second approx.
Adjustable Torque Limiter:
Will protect door and operator in case of obstruction (optional at extra cost).
Limit Switches:
Rotary type with oilite bronze cams and precision micro switches for automatic stopping of door in open or closed positions (easily adjustable without tools).
Reversing Contactor:
Heavy duty type.
Three Button Control:
Momentary contact type for open, close, stop. Operator may be stopped in any position and door opened or closed from that position. Close button can be wired for constant pressure when specified. Control circuit: 24V. A.C. for user’s protection, Class II.
Chain Hoist:
Equipped with a disconnect device which allows a person to disengage the operator from the door and operate the chain hoist from the floor, by hand, in the event of power failure, without having to remove the drive roller chain. Limit switches will not go out of adjustment when hoist is used.
Safety Interlock:
Electrical interlock switch automatically cuts power of operator control when chain hoist is in operation.
Solenoid Disc Brake:
To prevent door from coasting and secure locking of door in closed position.
Mounting:
Left and right (must be specified). Right hand shown.
Manual Overload Relay:
For overcurrent and under voltage protection (manual reset).

3 H.P. (2239W) 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V., 550V. Three phase (single phase not available).

Primed with rust-proof primer and spray painted in blue hammertone enamel.
Three Button Control:
Momentary contact type for open, close, stop. Fully guarded, weatherproof, 250V. A.C. maximum. Screw type terminal.
Motor Control:
Heavy duty reversing contactor, two sets of three pole contactors on a common frame, mechanically interlocked to prevent simultaneous closure, clapper-type armature with three point suspension, auxiliary contacts SPDT or DPDT (as required) on each armature. Holding coils 24V. A.C. Contact rating: resistive: 15 amps @ 120V. A.C., 10 amps @ 240V. A.C., 5 amps @ 600 V. A.C.; inductive: 2 H.P. (1493W) max. Terminals: 1/4″ (0.63cm) quick connect. Mechanical life: over 10 million cycles.

Output torque: 2490in/lbs (2161cm kg). Overhang load: 1400 lbs. (636kg). Output shaft diameter: 1-3/8″ (3.5cm), speed 44 RPM. Door speed 7″ (18cm) per second approx.
Unit Chassis:
1/4″ (0.63cm) heavy steel channel frame assembly reinforced with steel gusset plates, bolted together for greater strength.
Limit Switches:
Rotary type, friction free, oilite bronze cams, grooved and lock guided in a spring loaded formed galvanised steel plate. Cams are fitted on 5/8″ x 10-3/4″ (1.59cm x 26.88cm) C.R. steel shaft, rotating on lubricated high speed ball bearings. Cams on their preset travel, activate the micro switches to cut power of motor control in both open and close directions. Operating force on limit switch: 4 oz. (113.4g) maximum. Contact separation: .020″ (.05cm). Terminations .250″ (.625cm) quick connect.
Manual Overload Relay:
Protects operator from overcurrent and under voltage. Manual reset.
Electrical Control Cabinet:
Factory pre-wired, made of sheet metal; construction of suitable rigidity designed to meet EEMAC and C.S.A. classification type 4 and type 12. Size: 8″ x 16″ x 5″ (20cm x 41cm x 13cm) with removable cover for easy servicing and maintenance. Mounted to unit chassis with four zinc plated steel bolts.
50 V.A. STEP-DOWN TRANSFORMER:
208V., 230V., 416V., 460V., 600V. A.C. primary to 24V. A.C. secondary, Class II.
Torque Limiter (Optional at extra cost):
Consists of a steel hub with two 4″ diam. clutch plates, a 60B23 sprocket, two 4″ diam. non-flammable friction fibre discs, and a spring washer with pressure cup. Holding force is from 50 to 1500 lbs. (23 to 680kgs). Can be adjusted in the field as required, depending on door weight. Torque limiter will protect door and operator in case of obstruction or if door gets jammed. Synchronized limit drive assembly will not go out of adjustment when torque limiter is activated.
Emergency Chain Hoist:
Combined with a floor operated disconnect which, when pulled, will disconnect the electrically driven solenoid brake and engage the chain hoist for manual operation in the event of power failure, without having to remove the main drive chain. Assembly consists of one grooved aluminium pocket wheel, lever arm, coupling, 1/8″ (.31cm) D. pull cable, 7/16″ (11.1mm) D. bright polish chain, wall chain keeper and disconnect arm.
Safety Electrical Interlock:
When chain hoist is in operation, a toggle switch cuts the power line of operator control automatically. This safety electrical interlock will protect operator and door when power is restored and push button station is pressed accidentally.
Motor:
Rated for continuous duty 3 H.P. (2239W). Voltages available: 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V. or 550V., three phase. 1725 RPM, ball bearings permanently lubricated. Frame: 143TC. (Single phase not available).
Maximum door area:
1600 sq. feet (149m2).
Maximum lifting capacity: 6800 lbs. (3084kg).
Unit is factory pre-wired, colour coded and tagged.
Wiring diagrams are enclosed with each operator.
Operator is pre-run and tested before shipment.
Leader in door and gate operator
