Three button control:
Momentary contact type for up, down and stop. Operator may be stopped in any position and door moved up or down from that position. Operator can be wired for constant pressure down when specified. Control circuit 24V. A.C. for user’s protection. Adjustable automatic slipping clutch:
Will protect door and operator in case of obstruction.
Limit switches:
Screw type with oilite bronze cams and precision micro switches for both up and down automatic stopping of door positions, easily adjustable without tools.
Reversing contactor:
Heavy duty type STRUTHERS-DUNN or equal.
Reduction system:
The power unit of this operator utilizes a large size V belt (5L) and heavy pulleys for primary reduction, roller chain and steel sprocket for secondary reduction to the output drive shaft. Mounted on 1″ (2.5cm) C.R. steel shaft rotating on high speed self-lubricating, self-aligning pillow block bearings for efficient long lasting, hard working, high traffic operation. Door operating speed approx. 1.0ft. (.3m) per second.
Dual trolley:
Cast aluminium alloy chain driven carriage, slides on dual heavy steel angle tracks with full No. 41 push and pull roller chain for smooth and quiet operation. In addition a roller spreader is provided to support trolley and prevent chain from rubbing.
Quick release door arm:
Quickly disengages operator from door (without tools) for manual operation in the event of power failure.
Motor:
1/3 H.P. (.33hp), 1/2 H.P. (.5hp), or 3/4 H.P. (.75hp), 115V., or 230V., 1 phase – 208V., 440V. or 550V., 3 phase. (1 H.P. not recommended on single phase motors).
Manual overload relay:
For overload and under voltage protection. (Can be reset manually).
Electro-mechanical instant reverse or stop:
This built-in door load sensing device is optional equipment (at extra cost). If downward travelling door meets an obstruction, door will instantly reverse and automatically stop at fully open position, or when specified, can be wired to door stop only. This system eliminates the use of air hose, air switch, retractable cord, etc.
Headroom required:
2-1/2″ (62.5cm) minimum from door’s highest arc of travel.
Backroom:
4’7″ (137.5cm) plus door height.
Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray painted in blue hammer tone enamel.
Three-Button Control Post:
Momentary contact type, open, close, fully protected stop for normal use, 600V. A.C. maximum. Screw-type terminals. 24V. A.C. control circuit for user protection.
Motor Control:
STRUTHERS-DUNN or equivalent high-power reversing contactor. Two sets of three-pole contactors on a common armature, mechanically interlocked to prevent simultaneous closure, flap armature with triangular suspension, DPDT auxiliary contacts on each armature, 24V. A.C. coils, resistivity 120V. A.C. 15 amp., 240V. A.C. 10 amp., 550V. A.C. 5 amp. 1 HP motor maximum. .250″ (.625cm) quick connection terminals, durability 10 million cycles.
Automatic and Adjustable Friction Clutch:
4″ (10cm) diameter aluminum disc, attached to the rotating shaft, covered on one side with a 4″ x 1/8″ (10cm x .31cm) piece of non-flammable fibrous material for clutch lining, compressed by a powerful compression spring and a serrated nut threaded on an 8″ (20cm) pulley with a V-belt. Securely held by a 3/16″ (4.8mm) pin. The clutch system can easily be adjusted according to the size and weight of the door. The friction clutch protects the door and operator in case of obstruction.
Electrical Control Box:
Pre-connected at the factory, box shaped in 14 gauge hot-rolled steel, measuring 8″ x 10″ x 4-1/2″ (20cm x 25cm x 11.25cm) with removable cover for easy servicing and maintenance. Mounted on the chassis with 4 galvanized steel bolts.
Tolerance Contactors:
Screw type with two grooved oilite bronze cams, guided by a galvanized steel profiled plate. The cams are mounted on a 5/8″ x 10-3/4″ (2.05cm x 26.88cm) threaded shaft of cold-rolled steel N/F, rotating on lubricated ball bearings. The cams, by pivoting, actuate two micro-contactors that cut off the motor control current in both directions, up or down. Tolerance contactor command force 4 oz. (113.4g) maximum, contact gap .020″ (.05cm), pre-travel .250″ (.625cm), end .250″ (.625cm) quick connection.
Reduction:
This ultra strong drive unit uses a 5L V-belt and two cast aluminum alloy pulleys, one 2″ (5cm) and one 8″ (20cm) type B, offset to ensure smooth operation, in primary reduction. Five 41B12 steel pinions and one 41B36 with an RC41 roller chain, mounted on a 1″ cold-rolled steel shaft, rotating on four 1″ (2.5cm) high-speed self-greasing and self-aligning bearing supports ensure secondary reduction to the terminal shaft. All pinions and pulleys are pinned or keyed to the transmission. Approximate door operating speed 1.0 foot/second (.3m/second).
Chassis:
This solid assembly consists of 2″ x 2″ x 1/8″ (5cm x 5cm x .31cm) steel angles reinforced with steel plates, all welded for added strength.
Carrier:
Composed of 2″ x 2″ x 1/8″ (5cm x 5cm x .31cm) hot-rolled steel angles, mounted with hot-rolled steel rods. The cast aluminum alloy trolley, fully controlled by a back-and-forth No. 41 roller chain for smooth and frictionless operation, slides between these two solid steel bent rails. In addition, a roller spreader bar supports the trolley in the middle and prevents the chain from rubbing.
Safety Lever:
Hot-rolled steel bar 1″ x 3/8″ (2.5cm x .93cm), bent at 90o, adjustable according to the free height, with a spring hook attached to an aluminum bracket on the door. This lever quickly releases the operator from the door, without tools, to allow manual operation in case of power failure.
Manual Overload Relay:
Protects the operator against overload or voltage deficiency. Can be manually reset.
Step-down Transformer:
