Reduction System:
The power unit of this operator utilizes a large size V-belt (5L) and heavy pulleys for primary reduction; roller chain and steel sprockets for secondary reduction to the output drive shaft. Mounted on 1″ (2.5cm) C.R. steel shaft rotating on high speed, self-lubricating, self-aligning pillow-block bearings, for efficient, long lasting, hard-working, high-traffic operation. Door operating speed approx. 1.0 ft (.3m) per second.
Dual Trolley:
Cast aluminium alloy chain driven carriage, slides in a dual heavy steel angle tracks, with continuous No. 41 push and pull roller chain, for smooth and quiet operation. In addition, a roller spreader is provided to support trolley and prevent chain from rubbing.
Quick Release Door Arm:
Quickly disengages operator from door (without tools) for manual operation in the event of power failure.

1/3 H.P. (249W), 1/2 H.P. (373W), 3/4 H.P. (560W) or 1 H.P. (746W), 115V. or 230V., 1 phase, 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V. or 550V., 3 phase. 1 H.P. (746W) not recommended for single phase motors.
Manual Overload Relay:
For over-current and under voltage protection. Manual reset.
Solenoid Brake:
Will stop the door and prevent it from coasting.
Headroom Required:
2-1/2″ (6.35cm) minimum from door’s highest arc of travel.
Backroom:
4’7″ (140cm) plus door height.
Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray painted in blue hammer-tone enamel.
Three-button Control: Featuring momentary pressure contact for opening, closing, and stopping. Completely enclosed and weather-resistant. Maximum 250V AC. Screw terminals.
Motor Control: Reversing contactor for heavy use, two sets of three-pole contactors on a common frame, mechanically linked to prevent simultaneous closure. Hinge type armature supported on three points, single-pole or double-pole auxiliary contacts (as applicable) on each armature. Coils: 24V AC. Non-inductive contact load: 15 amps @ 120V AC, 10 amps @ 240V AC, 5 amps @ 600V AC; inductive: 2 HP (1493W) max. Quick connect terminals of .25″ (.63cm). Mechanical lifespan: over 10 million cycles.
Adjustable Friction Clutch: A 4″ (10.16cm) diameter aluminum disc affixed to the rotation shaft at one end is attached to a 4″ x 1/8″ (10.16cm x 0.32cm) disc of non-flammable fibrous clutch material, compressed by a strong compression spring and a knurled nut against an 8″ (20cm) V-belt pulley. Held in place by a pin. The friction clutch system can be adjusted as needed based on the size and weight of the door. The clutch protects the door and the control in the presence of an obstacle.
Electrical Control Cabinet: Pre-wired at the factory and fabricated from sheet metal rigid enough to meet the requirements of EEMAC and ACNOR classes 12 and 4. Dimensions: 8″ x 10″ x 5″ (20.3cm x 25.6cm x 13cm). Removable cover for easy service and maintenance. Attached to the chassis using 4 galvanized steel bolts.
Limit Switches: Rotary type, oilite bronze frictionless cams, grooved and guided on a stamped galvanized steel plate. They are fixed on a 5/8″ x 10-3/4″ (1.59cm x 26.88cm) threaded steel shaft which rotates on high-speed ball bearings with grease nipples. At predetermined positions, the cams operate the micro-switches that cut off the power supply to the motor control in the direction of opening and closing. Maximum force exerted on the switch: 4 ounces (113.4g). Contact gap: .020″ (0.5mm). Lead: .25″ (6.35mm). Quick connect terminals of .25″ (6.35mm).
Reduction: This ultra-robust motor unit uses a V-belt (5L), a 2″ (5cm) pulley and a 9″ (22.8cm) pulley, both type B in aluminum casting, balanced to ensure smooth primary reduction. Five 41B12 steel gears and one 41B36 gear, with an RC41 roller chain mounted on a 1″ (2.5cm) drawn steel shaft resting on four high-speed self-lubricating and self-centering pillow blocks for secondary reduction to the output shaft. All gears are keyed or dowelled on the shafts. Door speed: About 1 foot (30cm) per second.
Chassis: Built on a sturdy frame of cold-rolled steel made from solid 2″ x 2″ x 1/8″ (5cm x 5cm x 3.1mm) steel angles reinforced with steel sheets and solidly bolted together.
Trolley: Constructed from 2″ x 2″ x 1/8″ (5cm x 5cm x 3.1mm) cold-rolled steel angles assembled with 3/8″ (9.5mm) drawn steel rods. Aluminum casting trolley driven by continuous No. 41 chain sliding between two double rails with roller chain for frictionless operation. A roller spreader supports the trolley in the center and prevents chain friction.
Safety Quick Release Arm: 1″ x 3/8″ (2.5cm x 9.3mm) drawn steel bar bent at right angles, adjustable according to the available vertical clearance, with a spring hook, attached to the door’s aluminum frame. This arm quickly releases the trolley (without tools) to allow manual operation of the door in the event of a power outage.
Manual Overload Relay: Protects against current overloads and voltage drops. Manually resettable.
25 VA Step-down Transformer: Primary 120V, 240V AC to secondary 24V AC, class II. Primary 208V, 230V, 416V, 460V, 600V AC to secondary 24V AC, class II. Motor: Approved for heavy use (capacitor start on single-phase models) 1/3 HP (249W), 1/2 HP (373W), 3/4 HP (560W), or 1 HP (746W), 115V or 230V single-phase, 208V, 230V, 416V, 460V, or 550V three-phase, 1725 rpm. Self-lubricating ball bearings. Rigid type 56 frame. Shaft: 5/8″ (1.59cm) diameter. (Single-phase power supply not recommended for 1 HP motors).
Robust Solenoid Brake: Consists of a 4″ (10cm) diameter aluminum alloy disc mounted on the drive shaft with a key, linings with outward compression force on 360° by spring mechanism. The brake disc stops the door when the voltage is cut to the electromagnetic solenoid. The brake mechanism adjusts automatically.
The device is pre-wired, color-coded, and labeled at the factory. Each control is delivered with its wiring diagram. The control is tested at the factory before shipment.
