Three button control:
Momentary contact type for up, down and stop. Operator may be stopped in any position and door moved up or down from that position. Operator can be wired for constant pressure down when specified. Control circuit 24V. A.C. for user’s protection.
Limit switches:
Screw type with oilite bronze cams and precision type micro switches for both up and down stopping of door positions. Easily adjustable without tools.
Reversing contactor:
Heavy duty type, STRUTHERS-DUNN or equal.
Electro mechanical stop:
This built-in door stop, load sensing device is standard equipment, if downward travelling door meets an obstruction, door will instantly stop. Easily accessible. Externally adjustable without tools. Operators with three phase motor can be made to instant reverse at no extra cost. This operator is also available with instant reverse mechanism for single phase motors. (OPTIONAL AT EXTRA COST)
Reduction system:
The power unit of this operator utilizes V belt and pulleys for primary reduction, roller chain and sprocket for secondary reduction to the output drive shaft. Rotating on high speed ballbearings and self-lubricating, self-aligning pillow block bearings for efficient long lasting, quiet operation. Door operating speed approx. 1.0ft. (.3m) per second.
Quick release door arm:
Quickly disengages operator from door (without tools) for manual operation in the event of power failure.
Dual trolley:
Cast aluminium alloy chain driven carriage, slides on dual heavy steel angle tracks, with full No. 65 push and pull roller chain, for smooth and quiet operation. In addition a roller spreader is provided to support trolley and prevent chains from rubbing.
Motor:
1/3 H.P. (.33hp), 1/2 H.P. (.5hp), or 3/4 H.P. (.75hp), 115V., or 230V., 1 phase – 208V., 440V. or 550V., 3 phase. This operator has an overload and under voltage protection.
Solenoid brake:
To prevent door from coasting and holding in any position.
Headroom required:
2-1/2″ (62.5cm) from door’s highest arc of travel.
Backroom:
4’7″ (137.5cm) plus door height.
Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray painted in blue hammer tone enamel.
Three-button control post:

Motor control:
High-power STRUTHERS-DUNN inversion contactor or equivalent. Two sets of tripolar contactors on common armature, mechanically interlocked to prevent simultaneous closing, flap armature with triangular suspension, auxiliary contacts DPDT on each armature, 24V A.C. coil, resistivity 120V A.C. 15 amp, 240V A.C. 10 amp, 550V A.C. 5 amp. Maximum 1 H.P. motor. Terminals .250″ (.625cm) quick connection, durability 10 million cycles.
Electrical control box:
Pre-wired at the factory, hot-rolled steel profiled box 14 gauge, measuring 8″ x 10″ x 4-1/2″ (20cm x 25cm x 11.25cm) with removable lid for easy service and maintenance. Mounted on the chassis by means of 4 galvanized steel bolts. 24V A.C. circuit for user protection.
Limit switch:
Screw type with two oilite bronze splined cams, guided by a profiled galvanized steel plate. The cams are mounted on a 5/8″ x 10-3/4″ (2.05cm x 26.88cm) threaded shaft of cold rolled steel N/F, rotating on lubricated ball bearings. The cams, when pivoting, actuate two micro-switches that cut off the motor control current in both directions, upward or downward. Maximum operating force on limit switches 4 oz. (113.4g), contact gap .020″ (.05cm), pre-travel .250″ (.625cm), end .250″ (.625cm) quick connection.
Reduction:
The motor unit consists, for the primary reduction, of a No. 4L V-belt, two cast aluminium alloy pulleys, one 1-1/2″ (3.75cm) and one 9″ (27.5cm) offset for smooth operation. A 65B9 steel pinion and a 65B23 with RC65 roller chain, mounted on self-lubricating and self-aligning 5/8″ (2.05cm) high-speed supports provide the secondary reduction to the terminal shaft. All gears and pulleys are pinned or keyed to the transmission. Approx. door operating speed 1.0 foot/second (.3m/second).
Chassis:
A solid assembly of 2″ x 2″ x 1/8″ (5cm x 5cm x .31cm) hot-rolled steel angles reinforced with steel plates, all welded for extra strength.
Carrier:
2″ x 2″ x 1/8″ (5cm x 5cm x .31cm) hot-rolled steel angles, mounted with hot-rolled steel rods. The cast aluminium alloy trolley, fully controlled by a No. 65 roller chain for smooth, friction-free operation, slides between these two solid steel bent rails. In addition, a roller spreader bar supports the trolley in its centre and prevents the chain from rubbing.
Electro-mechanical stop:
Standard equipment on this model, consists of a spring detection device including lever arm assembly with a 41B9 steel pinion and a tolerance switch. The setting can be done from the outside by turning a wing screw to the right to decrease sensitivity.
Safety lever:
1″ x 3/8″ (2.5cm x .9275cm) hot-rolled steel bar, bent at 90 degrees, adjustable according to free height, with a spring hook attached to an aluminium support on the door. This lever quickly releases the door control device, without tools, to allow manual operation in case of power failure.
Manual overload relay:
Protects the operator against overload or voltage deficiency. Can be reset manually.

High-efficiency solenoidal brake:
Consists of a 4″ (10cm) diameter aluminium alloy disc, mounted on the keyed motor shaft, brake segments with external compression force 360-degree spring mechanism. The brake disc stops the door when the solenoidal switch is released. Mounted on heavy gauge steel plates, protected by a 14 gauge steel housing. The solenoidal brake mechanism is self-adjusting.
The unit is pre-wired at the factory with colour coding and labels.
