Electro mechanical stop:
This built-in door stop, load sensing device is standard equipment, if downward travelling door meets an obstruction, door will instantly stop. Easily accessible. Externally adjustable without tools. Operators with three phase motor can be made to instant reverse at no extra cost. This operator is also available with instant reverse mechanism for single phase motors. (OPTIONAL AT EXTRA COST)
Reduction system:
The power unit of this operator utilizes V belt and pulleys for primary reduction, roller chain and sprocket for secondary reduction to the output drive shaft. Rotating on high speed ballbearings and self-lubricating, self-aligning pillow block bearings for efficient long lasting, quiet operation. Door operating speed approx. 1.0ft. (.3m) per second.
Quick release door arm:
Quickly disengages operator from door (without tools) for manual operation in the event of power failure.
Dual trolley:
Cast aluminium alloy chain driven carriage, slides on dual heavy steel angle tracks, with full No. 65 push and pull roller chain, for smooth and quiet operation. In addition a roller spreader is provided to support trolley and prevent chains from rubbing.
Motor:
1/3 H.P. (.33hp), 1/2 H.P. (.5hp), or 3/4 H.P. (.75hp), 115V., or 230V., 1 phase – 208V., 440V. or 550V., 3 phase. This operator has an overload and under voltage protection.
Headroom required:
2-1/2″ (62.5cm) from door’s highest arc of travel.
Backroom:
4’7″ (137.5cm) plus door height.
Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray painted in blue hammer tone enamel.
Three-button control post: Momentary contact type, open, close, stop fully protected for normal use, 600V. AC maximum, screw type terminals.
Motor control: STRUTHERS-DUNN or equivalent high power reversing contactor. Two sets of three-pole contactors on a common armature, mechanically interlocked to prevent their simultaneous closing, flap armature with triangular suspension, DPDT auxiliary contacts on each armature, 24V AC coil, resistivity 120V AC 15 amp., 240V AC 10 amp., 550V AC 5 amp. Maximum 1 HP motor. Terminals .250″ (.625cm) quick connect, durability 10 million cycles.
Electrical control box: Pre-wired at the factory, 14-gauge hot-rolled steel profiled box measuring 8″ x 10″ x 4-1/2″ (20cm x 25cm x 11.25cm) with removable cover for easy service and maintenance. Mounted on the chassis with 4 galvanized steel bolts. 24V. AC circuit for user protection.
Tolerance contactors: Screw type with two grooved bronze “oilite” cams, guided by a profiled galvanized steel plate, mounted on a threaded rod of 5/8″ x 10-3/4″ (2.05cm x 26.88cm) cold-rolled N/F steel, rotating on lubricated ball bearings. The cams, by pivoting, actuate two micro-contacts that cut off the motor control current in both directions, up and down. Operating force on tolerance contactors 4 oz. (113.4g) maximum, contact gap .020″ (.05cm), pre-travel .250″ (.625cm), end .250″ (.625cm) quick connect.
Reduction: The drive unit consists, for primary reduction, of a No. 4L V-belt, two cast aluminum alloy pulleys, one 1-1/2″ (3.75cm) and one 9″ (27.5cm) compensated to ensure smooth operation. A 65B9 steel pinion and a 65B23 with an RC65 roller chain, mounted on self-greasing and self-aligning bearings of 5/8″ (2.05cm) at high speed, provide the secondary reduction to the terminal shaft. All pinions and pulleys are pinned or keyed to the transmission. Approximate door operating speed 1.0 foot/second (.3m/second).
Chassis: A sturdy assembly of hot-rolled steel angles 2″ x 2″ x 1/8″ (5cm x 5cm x .31cm) reinforced with steel plates, all welded for added strength.
Carrier: Hot-rolled steel angles 2″ x 2″ x 1/8″ (5cm x 5cm x .31cm), mounted with hot-rolled steel rods. The cast aluminum alloy cart, fully controlled by a No. 65 roller chain back and forth for smooth and frictionless operation, slides between these two solid steel bent rails. In addition, a roller spreader bar supports the cart in its center and prevents the chain from rubbing.
Electro-mechanical stop: Standard equipment on this model, consists of a spring detection device including a lever arm assembly with a 41B9 steel pinion and a tolerance contactor. The setting can be made from the outside by turning a wing screw to the right to decrease sensitivity.
Safety lever: Hot-rolled steel bar 1″ x 3/8″ (2.5cm x .9275cm), bent at 90 degrees, adjustable according to the free height, with a spring hook attached to an aluminum support on the door. This lever quickly disengages the door control device, without tools, to allow manual operation in case of power failure.
Manual overload relay: Protects the operator against overload or voltage insufficiency. It can be manually reset.
Step-down transformer: 120V AC primary to 24V AC secondary 25 VA min. 240V AC primary to 24V AC secondary 208V, 460V, 600V AC primary to 24V AC secondary
Motor: Designed for continuous flow (capacitor start on single-phase models) 1/3 HP (.33HP), 1/2 HP (.5HP) or 3/4 HP (.75HP), 115V or 230V single-phase, 208V, 440V, 550V three-phase, 1725 RPM bearings with permanent lubrication, rigid type 56 frame, 5/8″ (2.05cm) diameter shaft.
The unit is pre-wired at the factory with color markings and labels.
