EHJW Jackshaft type electric door operator has been developed mainly for locations where atmospheres contain dust, oil, liquid vapours or water. Doors of either sectional overhead, vertical lift, high-lift, or rolling curtain construction are ideally suited for operation by this unit. Many other types of doors can be equipped with this operator, providing the door has a shaft as the basic driving element.
Three Button Control:
Momentary contact type for up, down, stop. Operator may be stopped in any position and door moved up or down from that position. Down button can be wired for constant pressure when specified. Control circuit 24V AC for users protection.
Reduction:
Rugged power unit of this operator utilises a large size V belt (5L) and heavy pulleys for primary reduction, roller chain and steel sprockets for secondary reduction to the output drive shaft. Pulleys and sprockets are mounted on 1″ (2.5cm) C.R. steel shaft rotating in high speed, precision, self-aligning pillow block bearings, for efficient long lasting hard working high traffic operation. Door operating speed approx. 1.0ft (.3m) per second.
Chain Hoist:
Equipped with a disconnect device which allows a person to disengage the operator from the door and operate the chain hoist from the floor by hand in the event of power failure without having to remove the drive roller chain. Limit switches will not go out of adjustment when hoist is used. Also provides safety mechanical interlock to protect operator and door when power is restored, and if push button is pressed accidentally, the door will not move until disconnect lever is place to electric mode.
Solenoid Disc Brake:
To prevent door from coasting and secure locking of door in closed position.
Limit Switches:
Rotary type, friction free, oilite bronze cams and precision micro switches for automatic stopping of door in up and down positions, easily adjustable without tools.
Reversing ContacTOR:
Heavy duty type.
Universal Mounting:
Right or left side.
Manual Overload Relay:
For overcurrent and under voltage protection (can be reset manually).
Motor:
1/3 HP (248.6W), 1/2 HP (373W), 3/4 HP (559.5W), 1 HP (746W) 120V or 240V single phase, 208V, 230V, 416V, 460V or 600V three phase. 1 HP (746W) not recommended on single phase motors.
Sideroom Required:
20″ (50cm) minimum.
Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray painted in blue hammertone enamel.
Three-button control station:
Open/Close/Stop by momentary pressure. The operator can be stopped at any time and restarted in either direction as desired. Upon request, the close button can be connected to require continuous pressure. The controls are powered at 24 volts for user safety.
Adjustable automatic friction transmission:
To protect the operator and the door in case of obstruction.
Reduction gearing:
The very robust mechanism of this operator includes two stages of reduction; the first consists of two single groove pulleys and a “V” belt (5L width) while the second consists of two steel gears and a roller chain that drives an output shaft of 1″ (2.5cm) diameter, which is supported by two high-speed bearings (self-lubricating and self-aligning) allowing a very long life despite a high frequency of operation under a high load. The door movement speed is about one foot per second (0.3m/s).
Chain hoist:
Equipped with a declutching system that allows a person at ground level to disconnect the operator from the door and open it by hand in case of a power failure without having to remove the roller chain. The use of the hoist does not disturb the adjustment of the end-of-travel contacts.
Solenoid brake:
To prevent the door from drifting at stop and to lock it in the closed position.
Limit switches:
System composed of a threaded shaft on which two “oilite” bronze cams move, each activating a micro-adjustable precision switch. These switches automatically stop the door in the open or closed position. They are easily adjustable without tools. In this operator, the components are enclosed in a box sealed against moisture and dust (EEMAC 4).
Magnetic reversing starter:
Robust, for intensive use.
Safe interlocking:
An interlock contact in a sealed box automatically cuts off power to the operator’s control circuit when the emergency hoist is engaged.
Universal mounting:
This unit can be installed either on the left or the right.
Manual thermal protector:
Protects the motor against overloads or voltage drops. It must be manually reset.
Motors:
Available in the following powers: 1/3 H.P. (248.6W), 1/2 H.P. (373W), 3/4 H.P. (559.5W) or 1 H.P. (746W) powered at 120V or 240V single-phase as well as at 208V, 230V, 416V, 460V, or 600V three-phase. The use of the 1 H.P. motor on a single-phase network is not recommended.
Side clearance:
Minimum of 20″ (50cm) required.
Surface finish:
Antirust primer coat plus a coat of blue enamel (hammertone) sprayed on.
