GENERAL INFORMATION

DOORLEC'S model SWGOH swing gate operator is the most ruggedly built operator in Canada. Powerful enough to open and close a single gate up to 27 ft. (8.23m) wide, and weighing up to 1300 lbs. (590 kg), while maintaining the high-security concept of perimeter fencing. 500 watts thermostatically-controlled heater standard equipment. Will accept, when specified, any optional equipment for fully-automatic operation. (See catalogue # E113).

industries, airports, military installations, yacht clubs, harbour facilities, governmental institutions.

Reduction:
V belt and pulleys for primary reduction and worm-gear reducer single stage, running in an oil bath 40:1 ratio. C flange design cast iron-alloy housing #80 roller chain and sprockets for secondary reduction to operator drive shaft. Gate operating speed: 1,0 ft (.3m) per second approximately.

Adjustable Torque Limiter:
Will protect gate and operator in case of obstruction. (Optional at extra cost).

Limit Switches:
Rotary-type with precision micro switches for automatic stopping of gate in the open and closed positions (easily adjustable without tools).

Reversing Contactor:
Heavy-duty type.

Three-Button Control:
Momentary-contact type for open, close, stop. Operator may be stopped in any position and gate opened or closed from that position. Close button can be wired for constant pressure when specified. Control circuit: 24V. A.C. for user's protection. Manual reset.

Universal Mounting:
Right or left (right hand shown).

Manual-Overload Relay:
For overcurrent and under-voltage protection. (Manual reset).

Motor:
3/4 H.P. (560W) and 1 H.P. (746W). 120V. or 240V. single phase, 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V. or 600V. three phase. (Single-phase voltage for 1 H.P. (746W) motor not recommended).

Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray-painted in gold-tan baked enamel.

Heater:
Thermostatically-controlled 500W heater is provided to prevent freezing of oil in reducer and eliminate humidity on electrical components.

Unit factory pre-wired, colour-coded and tagged.
Wiring diagrams, installation instructions are enclosed with each operator.
Operator is pre-run and tested before shipment.


SPECIFICATIONS

Primary Reduction:
SWGOH operator utilizes two 5L V-belts, one 1-1/2" (3.75cm) type A double cast-iron pulley and one 9" (22.8cm) die-cast aluminium-alloy pulley, balanced for smooth operation.

Secondary Reduction:
Worm-gear reducer, single stage, running in an oil bath with 40:1 ratio. C flange design, cast-iron alloy housing. Hardened and ground steel worm and alloy bronze worm-gear for greater wear life. High-speed taper-roller bearings, double-lip, spring-loaded seals to keep lubricant in and dirt out. Alloy steel shafting hardened and ground for greater strength. Input RPM 1750, max. 1 H.P. (746W). Output torque 1380 in.lbs. (1590cm.kg.). Overhang load: 1100lbs. (500kg). Output shaft 1" (2.54cm) D. speed: 44 RPM, # 80 sprockets and roller-chain for further reduction to operator output drive-shaft. Operator drive shaft rotates on two high-speed self-lubricated cast-iron flanged bearings 2" (5.08cm) I.D. Gate operating speed: approximately 7" (18cm) per second.

Operator Cabinet:
Constructed of 10 ga. C.R. steel frame welded together with all seams ground smooth. All four sides and top are covered with formed-gasketed access panels, bolted to frame with zinc-plated bolts, giving a total weatherproof assembly. All four side access panels are easily removable for maintenance and service. Electrical components are located on side opposite traffic. Operator cabinet is primed with rust-proof primer and spray-painted in gold-tan baked enamel.

Electrical Control Cabinet:
Factory pre-wired, made of 14 ga. H.R. steel, pre-formed. Size 8" x 16" (20.3cm x 40.6cm). Mounted on unit chassis with four zinc-plated steel bolts. Can be removed easily if required.

Motor Control:
Heavy-duty reversing contactor, two sets of three-pole contacts on a common frame, mechanically interlocked to prevent simultaneous closure. Clapper-type armature with three-point suspension, auxiliary contacts SPDT or DPDT (as required) on each armature. Coils: 24V. A.C. Load contact amps: resistive: 15 amps @ 120V. A.C., 10 amps @ 240V. A.C., 5 amps @ 600V. A.C.; Inductive: 2 H.P. (1492W) max. Terminals: .25" (.6cm) quick connect. Mechanical life: over 10 million cycles.

Limit Switches:
Rotary-type, cams mounted on the operator's output shaft rotating on self-lubricated high-speed ball bearings. Cams on their preset travel, activate the micro switches to cut power of motor in both open and close directions. Operating force on limit-switches: 4oz. (113.4g) maximum. Contact separation: .020" (.05cm). Terminations: .250" (.625cm) quick connect. Easily adjustable without tools.

25v. A. Step-Down Transformer:
120V., 240V. A.C. primary to 24V. A.C. secondary. 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V., 600V. A.C. primary to 24V. A.C. secondary.

Torque-Limiter:
Will protect gate and operator in case of obstruction. Limit switches will not go out of adjustment when torque limiter is activated. Torque limiter consists of a steel hub with two 4" (10.2cm) diameter clutch plates, a 80B14 sprocket, two 4" (10cm) diameter non-flammable friction-discs and spring-washer with adjustable pressure cup.

Manual Disconnect:
In the event of power failure, the gate can be easily and quickly disconnected from the DOORLEC'S SWGOH operator by simply disengaging the pull pin from gate arm bracket. Gate can now be opened manually.

Rated for continuous duty (capacitor starting on single-phase models) 3/4 H.P. (560W), and 1 H.P. (746W) 120V. or 240V. single-phase, 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V. or 600V. three-phase. (Single-phase voltage for 1 H.P. (746W) motor not recommended). 1725 RPM, ball bearings permanently lubricated. Frame : rigid type 56. Shaft: 5/8" (1.56cm) diameter. Other voltages available on request.

This locking mechanism is of unique design. Upon closing of gate, the locking-bolt, mounted on the leading edge of gate, enters the lock-housing which is stationary-mounted on the gate post, causing automatic snap-lock action. When the electric operator is energized a solenoid actuated plunger simultaneously releases the locking bolt and permits the gate to be opened. A key lock is provided to manually release locking mechanism in the event of power failure. The Doorlec gate lock is shipped as shown above, however, mounting brackets must be fabricated to suit post dimension.

Specify diameter of stationary post when ordering.
