GENERAL INFORMATION

DOORLEC'S model SWGO is developed to power heavy residential and commercial gates with high frequency of operation, where security and vehicle traffic control is essential. It is engineered for maximum dependability in demanding applications, such as entrance to secure areas of airports, research centres, military installations, embassies, etc. Will accept, if specified, any optional equipment for fully automatic operation and security control systems. (See catalogue # E113).

Three-Button Control:
Momentary-contact type for open, close, stop. Operator may be stopped in any position and gate moved in either direction from that position. Close button can be wired for constant pressure when specified. Control circuit: 24V. A.C. for user's protection.

Adjustable Automatic Friction-Clutch:
To protect gate and operator in case of obstruction.

Reduction:
Rugged power unit of this operator utilizes double V belt (4L) and heavy pulleys for primary reduction. Worm-gear reducer 40:1 ratio for secondary reduction. Gate operating speed approx. 1,0 ft (.3m) per second.

Limit Switches:
Rotary-type, friction-free cams and precision micro switches, for automatic stopping of gate in open and closed positions. Easily adjustable without tools.

Reversing Contactor:
Heavy-duty type.

Universal Mounting:
Right or left side. (Left hand shown).

Manual-Overload Relay:
For overcurrent and under-voltage protection. (Manual reset).

Motor:
1/2 H.P. (373W), 120V. or 240V. single phase, 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V. or 600V. three phase.

Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray-painted in gold-tan baked enamel.

Heater:
Thermostatically-controlled 500W heater is provided to prevent freezing of oil in reducer and eliminate humidity on electrical components.

Unit factory pre-wired, colour-coded and tagged. Wiring diagrams, installation instructions are enclosed with each operator. Operator is pre-run and tested before shipment.


SPECIFICATIONS

Operator Cabinet:
Constructed of 10 ga. C.R. steel frame, welded together with all seams ground smooth. All four sides and top are covered with formed, gasketed access panels, bolted to frame with zinc-plated bolts, giving a total weatherproof assembly. All four side access panels are easily removable for maintenance and service. Electrical components are located on side opposite traffic. Operator cabinet is primed with rust-proof primer and spray-painted in gold-tan baked enamel.

Electrical Control Cabinet:
Factory pre-wired, made of 14 ga. H.R. steel, pre-formed. Size 8" x 16" (20.3cm x 40.6cm). Mounted on unit chassis with four zinc-plated steel bolts.

Motor Control:
Heavy-duty reversing contactor, two sets of three-pole contactors on a common frame, mechanically interlocked to prevent simultaneous closure. Clapper-type armature with three-point suspension. Auxiliary contacts SPDT or DPDT (as required) on each armature. Coils: 24V. A.C. Load contact amps: resistive: 15 amps @ 120V. A.C., 10 amps @ 240V. A.C., 5 amps @ 600V. A.C.; Inductive: 2 H.P. (1492W) max. Terminals: .25" (.6cm) quick connect. Mechanical life: over 10 million cycles.

Limit Switches:
Rotary-type cams mounted on the operator's output shaft rotating on self-lubricated high-speed ball bearings. Cams on their preset travel, activate the micro switches to cut power of motor in both open and close directions. Operating force on limit-switches: 4oz. (113.4g) maximum. Contact separation: .020" (.05cm). Terminations: .250" (.6cm) quick connect. Easily adjustable without tools.

Primary Reduction:
SWGO operator utilizes one 4L V-belts, one 1-1/2" (3.75cm) type A cast-iron pulley and one 9" (22.8cm) die-cast aluminium-alloy pulley, balanced for smooth operation.

Secondary Reduction:
Worm-gear reducer, single stage, running in an oil bath, with 40:1 ratio, C flange design, alloy cast-iron housing. Hardened and ground steel worm and alloy bronze worm-gear for greater wear life. High-speed taper-roller bearings, double-lip, spring-loaded seals to keep lubricant in and dirt out. Alloy steel shafting hardened and ground for greater strength. Input RPM 1750, max. 3/4 H.P. (560W). Output shaft 1" (2.54cm) D. speed: 44 RPM, No. 50 sprocket and chain for further reduction to output operator drive-shaft. Gate speed approx. 1.0 ft. (.3m) per second.

25v. A. Step-Down Transformer:
120V., 240V. A.C. primary to 24V. A.C. secondary. 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V., 600V. A.C. primary to 24V. A.C. secondary.

Heater:
Thermostatically-controlled 500 watts heater is provided to prevent freezing of oil in reducer and eliminate humidity on electrical components.

Adjustable Automatic-Friction Clutch:
4" (10cm) diameter aluminium disc attached to rotating shaft to one side of which a 4" (10cm) D. x 1/8" (.31cm) disc of non-flammable fiber-clutch material is applied. Two 7" (17.5cm) H.D. V-belts pulleys are compressed by means of a heavy-compression spring and nylon insert nut. Friction-clutch system can be adjusted, as required, depending on gate size and weight. Clutch will protect gate and operator in case of obstruction.

Manual Disconnect:
In the event of power failure, the gate can be easily and quickly disconnected from the DOORLEC'S SWGO operator by simply disengaging the pull pin from gate arm bracket. Gate can now be opened manually.

Motor:
Rated for continuous duty (capacitor starting on single-phase models). 1/2 H.P. (373W), 120V. or 240V. single-phase, 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V. or 600V. three-phase. 1725 RPM, ball bearings permanently lubricated. Frame : rigid type 56. Shaft: 5/8" (1.56cm) diameter. Other voltages available on request.


NOTE

Rated for continuous duty (capacitor starting on single-phase models) 3/4 H.P. (560W), and 1 H.P. (746W) 120V. or 240V. single-phase, 208V., 230V., 416V., 460V. or 600V. three-phase. (Single-phase voltage for 1 H.P. (746W) motor not recommended). 1725 RPM, ball bearings permanently lubricated. Frame : rigid type 56. Shaft: 5/8" (1.56cm) diameter. Other voltages available on request.

This locking mechanism is of unique design. Upon closing of gate, the locking-bolt, mounted on the leading edge of gate, enters the lock-housing which is stationary-mounted on the gate post, causing automatic snap-lock action. When the electric operator is energized a solenoid actuated plunger simultaneously releases the locking bolt and permits the gate to be opened. A key lock is provided to manually release locking mechanism in the event of power failure. The Doorlec gate lock is shipped as shown above, however, mounting brackets must be fabricated to suit post dimension.

Specify diameter of stationary post when ordering.
