GENERAL INFORMATION

ETBX Industrial and Commercial type trolley electric door operator has been developed by Doorlec Corporation to be used in hazardous locations where flammable vapours, combustible dust, or ignitable fibres or flying may be present in the air in quantities sufficient to produce an explosion. To be used in conjunction with standard lift overhead doors where no sideroom is available.

Explosion Proof Three Button Control:
Momentary contact type for up, down, stop. Operator may be stopped in any position and door moved up or down from that position. Down button can be wired for constant pressure when specified. Control circuit 24V AC for users protection. C.S.A. an U.L. approved.

Adjustable Automatic Friction Clutch:
Will protect door and operator in case of obstruction.

Explosion Proof Limit Switches:
Rotary type with oilite bronze cams and precision micro switches for automatic stopping of door in up and down positions (easily adjustable without tools).

Reversing Contactor:
Heavy duty type.

Reduction System:
The power unit of this operator utilises a large size V belt (5L) and heavy pulleys for primary reduction, roller chain and steel sprockets for secondary reduction to the output drive shaft (mounted on 1" (2.5cm) C.R. steel shaft) rotating in high speed, self-lubricating, self-aligning pillow block bearings, for efficient long lasting operation. Door operating speed approx. 1.0ft (.3m) per second.

Dual Trolley:
Cast aluminium alloy chain driven carriage, slides in dual heavy steel angle tracks, with full No.41 push and pull roller chain, for smooth and quiet operation. In addition, a roller spreader is provided to support trolley and prevent chain from rubbing.

Quick Release Door Arm:
Quickly disengages operator from door at floor level (without tools) for manual operation in the event of power failure.

Explosion Proof Motors:
1/3 HP (248.6W), 1/2 HP (373W), 3/4 HP (559.5W), 1 HP (746W), 120V or 240V single phase, 208V, 230V, 416V, 460V or 600V three phase. 1 Hp (746W) not recommended on single phase motors. For hazardous locations. C.S.A. and U.L. approved.

Manual Overload Relay:
For overcurrent and under voltage protection (can be reset manually).

Solenoid Brake:
To prevent door from coasting and for holding it in any position.

Headroom Required:
2-1/2" (6.25cm) minimum from door's highest arc of travel.

Backroom:
4'7" (137.5cm) plus door height.

Finish:
Primed with rust-proof primer and spray painted in blue hammertone enamel.



SPECIFICATIONS


Three Button Control:
Momentary contact type for open, close, stop. Fully guarded, standard duty 600V AC maximum. Screw type terminals. Control circuit 24V AC for users protection. Explosion proof type for hazardous locations. Cast aluminium alloy housing for 7 D, 9 E, F, G, Class I, Group D, Class II, Group E, F and G, Class III, Division I and 2 areas. C.S.A. and U.L. approved.

Motor Control:
Heavy duty reversing contactor, two sets of three pole contactors on a common frame, mechanically interlocked to prevent simultaneous closure, clapper-type armature with three point suspension, auxiliary contacts SPDT or DPDT (as required) on each armature, coils 24V AC. Load contact amps, resistive @ 120V AC 15 amps, @ 240V AC 10 amps, @ 600 V AC 5 amps. Terminals .250" (.625cm) quick connect; mechanical life 10 million cycles.

Adjustable Automatic Friction Clutch:
4" (10cm) diameter aluminium disc attached to rotating shaft covered one side of which a 4" x 1/8" (10cm x .31cm) non-flammable clutch fibre material compressed against 8" (20cm) V belt pulley, by means of heavy compression spring and castellated threaded nut, securely locked with 3/16" (4.8mm) cotter pin. Friction clutch system can be adjusted as easily as required depending on door size and weight. Friction clutch will protect door and operator in case of obstruction.

Electrical Control Cabinet:
Made from cast aluminium alloy, explosion proof type for hazardous locations. Classifications 7 D, 9 E, F, G, Class I, Group D, Class II, Group E, F and G, Class III, Division I and 2 areas. C.S.A. and U.L. approved. Size 10" x 8" x 6" (25cm x 20cm x 15cm) interior dimensions, enclosing all electrical components. Factory prewired and attached to unit chassis with four zinc plated bolts. Electrical connections from motor to this cabinet are concealed by means of explosion proof fittings, junction boxes, unions, and flexible conduits, all C.S.A. and U.L. approved. Removable cover for easy service and maintenance.

Explosion Proof Limit Switches:
Rotary type, friction free oilite bronze cams grooved and lock guided in a formed galvanised steel plate. Cams are fitted on 5/8" D. (2.05cm) x 10-3/4" L. (26.88cm) C.R. steel shaft with N.F. threads which rotates in lubricated high speed ballbearings. Cams on their preset travel activate micro switches to cut power of motor control in both open and close directions of door. Operating force on limit switches 4 oz. (113.4g) maximum, contact separation .020" (.05cm) pre-travel .250" (.625cm). Terminations .250" (.625cm) quick connect.

Reduction:
This extra rugged power unit drive utilises one (5L) V belt, one 2" (5cm) and one 8" (20cm) type B die cast aluminium alloy pulleys, balanced for smooth operation, for primary reduction, five 41B12 and one 41B36 steel sprockets with RC41 roller chain, mounted on 1" (2.5cm) diameter C.R. steel shaft, rotating in four 1" (2.5cm) self-lubricating, self-aligning, high speed pillow block bearings, for secondary reduction to the output drive shaft. Door operating speed approx. 1.0ft (.3m) per second.

Unit Chassis:
Heavy steel frame assembly is made from 2" x 2" x 1/8" (5cm x 5cm x .31cm) H.R. steel angles, reinforced with steel plates end welded together for greater strength.

Trolley Assembly:
Made from 2" x 2" x 1/8" (5cm x 5cm x .31cm) H.R. steel angles mounted together with 3/8" (9.5mm) H.R. steel rods. Cast aluminium alloy, chain driven carriage, slides between these dual angle tracks with full No.41 push and pull roller chain, for smooth and friction-free operation. In addition, roller spreader is provided to support trolley at centre and prevent chain from rubbing.

Quick Release Door Lifting Arm:
1" x 3/8" (2.5cm x .93cm) H.R. steel bar bent 900, adjustable to suit headroom with spring loaded hook attached to aluminium door bracket. This arm quickly disengages operator trolley from door at floor level (without tools) for manual operation in the event of power failure.

35VA Step-Down Transformer:
120V AC primary to 24V AC secondary.
240V AC primary to 24V AC secondary.

Explosion Proof Motors:
Rated for continuous duty (capacitor starting on single phase models) 1/3 HP (248.6W), 1/2 HP (373W), 3/4 H.P. (559.5W) or 1 H.P. (746W), 120V or 240V single phase, 208V, 230V, 416V, 460V or 600V three phase, 1725 RPM, ballbearings permanently lubricated, frame rigid type 56C, shaft 5/8" (2.05cm) diameter. 1 HP (746W) not recommended on single phase motor. For hazardous locations. C.S.A. and U.L. approved.

Heavy Duty Solenoid Brake:
Consists of one 4" (10cm) diameter aluminium alloy drum mounted on keyed motor shaft, lined brake shoes with 360o exterior compressing force, through spring loaded mechanism. Brake drum stops door when electromagnetic solenoid is deenergized. Solenoid brake mechanism is on the self-adjusting type.

Unit is factory pre-wired, colour coded and tagged.
Wiring diagrams are enclosed with each operator.
Operator is pre-run and tested before shipment.
